It is essnetial to now include your mechanical equipment in your DSEAR Assessment and the basic requirements are given below along with the general requirements and reference documents that you need to perform a suitable assessment.

BSEN13463-1 Basic Methods & Requirements

General Requirements

All intended service conditions shall be specified

Design and construct to good engineering practice, with no effective ignition source

Equipment classified Category 3

If Ignition hazard assessment ensures no effective ignition sources during expected or rare malfunctions

Equipment may be classified Category 2 or Category 1 respectively
