Hazardous Areas ATEX Analysis

An initial risk assessment on the sources of ignition and types of explosive materials (gas and dust) following the methodology suggested in BS EN 1127-1:1998.

Explosion prevention and protection can identify the basic steps that need to be taken to reduce the risks.

The initial risk analysis is required by the ‘Use Directive’ and helps to determine what actions need to be taken, such as Area Classification or elimination of ignition sources.

There are now a series of standards published for mechanical safety requirements, under BSEN 13463 Series.
